What is the Cadet Program?
- The Cadet Program is the largest federally sponsored youth development program in Canada, and is made up of the Royal Canadian Sea Cadets, Royal Canadian Army Cadets and Royal Canadian Air Cadets.
How old do I have to be to join cadets?
 - You must be within the age of 12 and 19 in order to be enrolled as a cadet.
What's the purpose of cadets?
 - Cadets form a national organization whose purpose is to develop in youth the attributes of leadership, engaged and active citizenship and physical fitness, all within a safe environment designed to stimulate an interest in aviation and the Canadian Forces.
When do Cadets meet?
 - 7 Penhold squadron meets every Wednesday at Penhold Memorial Hall (1123 Fleming Avenue, Penhold Alberta) from 18:30 to 21:30 Hours.
What is required to join?
 - You or your child need to be able to legally reside in Canada through a Student Visa, Work Visa, Permanent Residency or Canadian Citizenship. Be able to supply a form of Government issued ID such as a birth certification, or immigration card as a proof of identity. Be able to supply an original, Alberta health care card or federal health care card.
What does it cost?
 - The cadet program is funded by the Department of National Defense in partnership with the Air Cadet League of Canada. The Squadron Sponsoring Committee (SSC) requires local community support to meet its obligations for the squadron. Fundraising is often done by the parent committee 
What do Air Cadets learn?
- In addition to the core aspects of the tri-element Cadet Program, Air Cadets focus on aviation topics such as principles of flight, navigation, radio communication, meteorology, and aerodrome operation. Our squadron has multiple additional optional cadet activities available to Cadets.
